Dr. Qian received her Ph.D. degree in 1991 from the Department of Biology, East China Normal University. After that, she worked as a research assistant in East China Normal University from 1991. Then she was promoted to Associate Professor in 1994 and Professor in 2002. In the past 10 years, she has been awarded lots of honors such as Excellent Young Scientist of Shanghai, Woman Pacesetter of Shanghai and Excellent Supervisor Award of Shanghai from Shanghai Municipal Government.
Now her research interests are focused on understanding the regulation of innate immune responses by GPCRs in inflammation, cancer and infectious disease. She has published more than 120 papers on high impact journals including J Immunol, Int J Cancer and Mol Cancer Res. Her current research is supported by grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and the Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality.

Research interests
Our research interests are focused on inflammation, infectious disease and cancer, including:
- To understand the role and mechanism of GPCRs in regulation of TLR, NLR and RLR mediated innate immune response in Macrophage, NK cells and Dendritic cell.
- To understand the function of inflammation in occurrence and progression of tumor, neurodegenerative disease and autoimmune diseases in mouse models.
- To understand the function and mechanism of extracellular nucleotides and their receptors in regulation of host defense against bacterial and viral infection.
