Scientific laboratory animal center in Minhang campus

Introduction The laboratory animal center(LAC) was constructed in 2007. LAC provide the service for the institute of biomedical science and also serve as the animal center of ECNU. In 2010, The LAC get the using license of laboratory animal and in 2011, get the breeding license of laboratory animal.

Staff and animal At present LAC has 15 taffs, of whom 2 are senior staff members, 4 are intermediate level technicians. All of them are get the qualification certificate of laboratory animal.The current animal stock in LAC has more than 50 laboratory animal strains.

Experimental condition  The LAC is mainly engaged in providing the experimental site and technique for the institute. It also preserve the laboratory animal resource, supply laboratory animals, conducting animal experimentations, developing animal resources, research on animal models and genetic engineering animals, as well as providing technical services in the field of laboratory animals .

1. Use the technique of IVIF and ICSI to promote the artificial assisted reproduction of rat and mouse.

2.According to transferring of the early phase embryo to rederive the rat or mouse from contaminated one..

3.According to embyo cryopreservation to preserve laboratory animal resource.

4.Use the technique of gene transfer or knockout to make the animal models or genetic engineering animals.

5.Make the tumour models and study the generation or development of the tumour

6.Anticancer drug screening by the animal experiment..

7.Pharmaceutical and drug effects study by the animal experiment.

8.The safety evaluation study of pharmaceutical, cosmetics, health products, food and biologics by the animal experiment.
