Laboratory Intro

Shanghai Key Laboratory of Regulatory Biology (LRB) was established in 2011 and developed based on the Institute of Biomedical Sciences in East China Normal University and Shanghai Platform for Cell Signaling Network Research. LRB locates in the beautiful campus of ECNU in Minhang district, and occupies an area of more than 6000 square meters including a SPF animal facility covering 1200 square meters.

At present, LRB recruited talent scientists from well-known universities and institutes to set up 10 individual groups focusing on basic research to investigate the fundamental molecular mechanisms in regulatory biology. There are 24 full-time faculties in the lab, including 10 full Professors, 10 Associate professors, 4 Instructors. In addition, 7 guest professors (1 Changjiang scholar guest professor) and more than 20 technicians help the lab to run smoothly. The main research activities of LRB is annually evaluated by a scientific committee composed of highly established Chinese scientists.

LRB received more than 80 grants from Ministry of Science and Technology, National Natural Science Foundation, Ministry of Education, Shanghai Science and Technology Committee. Until now, LRB has published more than 130 articles in scientific journals, including Immunity, Cancer Research, Nucleic Acids Research, Cell Research, and applied for more than 20 patents.

The research interests of LRB including four directions:

1.Gene transcriptional regulation

2.Protein modification and degradation

3.Stem cell and developmental biology

4.Tumor initiation, progression and anticancer drug discovery
